I don't know about what all transpired in every classification, but in 4A I think the outcome of the Columbia - Pearl-Cohn took me by surprise.

Nice job to Columbia, who won 14-13. It's not easy being the fourth seed and beat a 9-1 region champion.

Region 5-4A swept the first round playoff games. Hillsboro beat Whites Creek 51-0, Tullahoma beat White House 21-18 (another minor surprise), and Overton beat Springfield 14-3.

In 3A Austin-East lost to Seymour. That also surprised me.

I wasn't to suprised about region 5's sweep in 4a. Hillsboro and Overton are two of the best teams, and as i said before, WH wouldn't run on Tullahoma. And Columbia put together a pretty good team after getting beat up early.

The game that suprised me the most was the Cookeville-Smyrna game. I know Cookeville was a 1, but i really thought Smyrna was a good team and that region would sweep that braket.

    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
    • I heard Alabama was at Antioch practice and Colorado has offered QB. Hoping the Bears have a great year.
