Barney,

During that '07 season when the Govs were good alot of the back-ups played the 2nd half in those games and we went 1-9 the very next year. I still say it doesn't matter that much as long as the kids are getting experience in JV games and the coaches are doing a good job of preparing them in practice.

We dont have enough kids to play a JV schedule.Top ten in the state most yrs,"throwing them to the wolves".LoL!

Well that goes without saying. If I remember correctly you said you guys only have 27 players so ya'll are kind of forced to play everybody. But in all my years of watching maryville I have never seen them put in a kid who didn't look atleast somewhat prepared to be in there. I have never thought "Gosh this kid has no idea what he is doing" but I have thought that a bunch of times when I have watched other teams play their back-ups. And I know for a fact that there are a few kids on maryville's team that have never seen the field on friday night, I know their parents. GQ will not put in a kid who isn't ready and has no clue what he is doing. If you have watched maryville enough you know that the back-ups usually come in and do very well. This is because they are prepared to play because of what they have been taught in practice. But if you watch other team's back-ups they look like deer in the headlights.

That is kind of like the chicken vs. the egg. Maybe the Maryville kids look good because they have played. It goes both ways.

On another note: Last night was Senior night. There were a lot of Seniors that were not starters, but they were still members of the team. At a lot of schools, Seniors that don't play just quit. At Maryville it is about the TEAM. They might not start, but they are very valuable to the team as a whole.

Congratulations to all the Seniors.

It was students. Not surprised as I am sure some of Maryville's students do the same.

I know it was students but the point is that it went a little to far considering the guilty party had a megaphone in his hands and no one called him down. I know kids try to have a good time and don't think about things but it's been a history at Maryville to announce all these rules at the beginning of a game only to turn a blind eye when it happens on the other side. When it happens on the Maryville side the Gestapo shows up very fast to return order simply because they know that no one from Maryville will go to the limit with them.
