CatBacker
Thoughts on the game? A new thread was needed. Seems like the only ones keeping the Lawrence Co. got screwed thread going don't have a horse in the race. The players and coaches from both teams don't care who they playing. I am sure Millington isn't jumping for joy traveling over 150 miles for the first playoff game but I am sure they are preparing for Law. Co. and not worrying about anything else. I also know that the players and coaches for Lawrence Co. are concentrating on Millington and not worrying about Henry Co. I want to hear others opinions on the game and not the seeding or quad. MarkH
Interesting game. LC is a predominantly running team. Millington used to be that same type of team and ran that same offense until a few years ago when they changed to the spread. Trojans have been hit with injuries to key positions the last half of the year. They are on their 3rd quarterback (a freshman) and on their third running back (also a freshman) since week 5. The defense is still pretty good. Take away the MBA & Liberty games and Millington has allowed 70 pts in 8 games. I am interested in seeing how we try to stop #23, Lovelace. He is quite a ballplayer. TNHSFOOTBALLFAN
Like Mark said Millington had a pretty decent offense until they lost their quarterback and their first two running backs. Millington's defense has been pretty solid all year so hopefully they can hold LC to limited scoring. What scares me about a team like LC is not getting an opportunity to score. With a offense like theirs they can eat up some clock and take the time of possession away from you. Should be a great game. Looking forward to the trip. See y'all there
Hawse40
i like this discussion much better. The playoffs are a one-week season each week you win.. as far as Millington goes , you can throw out The MBA score because MBA can recruit. The Liberty score looks like the low point of the season and all teams have some. The trojans are a well coached, well disciplined team that has had some tough breaks. most of the teams they play seem to be spread , zone read, quick pass teams that try to get their athletes one on one in space. (As does Millington) I would like to ask if the Trojans have competed against a wing-t power , misdirection team ? It looks simple, but is hard when you haven't faced it.. The wildcats play a bend , but don't break defense that has served them well this season.. 2 of Lchs keys this year has been few turnovers and few serious injuries. The Wildcats are a Sr. laden group who traveled to Mem. Ridgeway as sophomores and Gallatin as jrs. for 1st round games. they feel the Millington pain of the long drive, and know the key to winning is to have fun.. Nobody who knows the slightest thing about H.s football in lawrenceburg believes this game will be anything but a tough , hard fought contest between 2 teams who have alot of pride and good communities behind them. There is no next week, This is it... Hope the fans from Millington ,players and staff have a safe trip here and home , and no one on either team gets hurt no matter what the game score,, See yall friday
MarkH
They have played one team this year that ran the wing T but it wasn't your typical wing T team. This coaching staff is very familiar with the offense since they ran it for about a 10 year period until 2012. Millington has only been in the spread since then. Am looking forward to a good hard hitting game and may the best team win.
catbyanyothername
I'm interested in seeing how lc speed matches up with millington. They are wing t but they are exsplosive with 23 getting the ball. People talk about lc being one dimensional however they have 4 different players that are capable of being game changers on offense. I don't think it matters how u get it done as long as u do. What do y'all think.
dhstennis
i think millington pulls off the best 1st round upset...the liberty score is very deceiving...everything seemed to go right for us that game...in all phases... millington seemed a lil undersized...i was told they have 9 seniors on D so i think they should be well suited to working together and stopping the wingT...the real question as has already been posted...can they score 3-4 times to win the game
BlackHavenSenator
If you folks don't mind... Unless Lawrence Co. is Fraudulent, I give Millington little to no chance for an upset with that sort of travel and Freshmen playing in Primary ball handler spots... I hope the Trojans do well and not get blown out but IF that happens I wouldn't be surprised in the least bit.
Vandychris
Names you will hear alot tonight from LCHS....Robert Billieu, Jacob Lovelace, Marquis Lockridge are your backs, Eric Hicks on the D-line, Tanner Wray is qb and linebacker, Adrian Berry at linebacker, Hunter Smith is a strong Db with some very key plays made. Expect LCHS to run. When you get tired of them running, expect them to run some more. When you get tired of that, they say they are going to run it more. Just when you think they are going to stop running, they are gonna run some more. I think this ball control offense combined with the bend but dont break defense, a group of HUNGRY seniors starving for their first playoff win, facing a team with freshmen in the most key positions of offense combined with a 3 1/2-4 hour drive to play on a cold, windy night in frount of a raucous student section bodes well for LCHS.WILDCATS 27MILLINGTON 10GO LCHS WILDCATS Edited November 7, 2014 by Vandychris

WILDCATS 27 MILLINGTON 10 Thanks for the insight and analysis of tonights game. Looking forward to seeing this match up. It's always exciting while anticipating a match up with a opponent your not familiar with except for a little game film. Sounds like LCHS is a very talented team with lots of athletes. I just hope the long ride, weather and raucous student section isn't too much for our team to overcome and that we all witness a great game. See you shortly and Good luck to your team tonight. Should have been worse!!! Millington was inside the 10 yard line 5 times... LC has a good team but couldn't pass the ball when they needed too... And I will say this again... Patrick Macon is the 2nd if not the best linebacker in the memphis area!!!
