The all-knowing c-a-l-p-r-e-p-s computer says.........................

PROJECT A MATCHUP
neutral field
[2014] Nashville Christian (Nashville, TN) 38, [2014] Columbia Academy (Columbia, TN) 21

It's not a neutral field, so how many more points do we give CA?  After what NCS did to the WC offense, I don't see any way CA scores 21.

Co's offense is a lot better than wchs

I wouldn't say better, but CA will definitely have better match ups on the outside with your WRs then WC did. If you guys can hold off the blitz than I think your QB could do some damage. Like I've said before, I really like the way NCS's coach runs that defense. The players jump around and your not real sure which one, or how many, is coming. I'm not gonna say CA doesn't have a chance because they both did well against WC. NCS had 14 points off turnovers and CA had 21. Both teams drove the field and scored a TD. I said last year that CA didn't have the toughness to hang with NCS. I seen a toughness in CA this year that wasn't there last year. Good luck to both, y'all have had a great season. It's to bad that one will end Friday.

Still beyond me how wc fumbles so much its always been a problem for the most part. I guess all coaches have weaknesses and that's Rice's kryptonite

I think it's mostly that there's a lot of ball movement with qb holding it to the last second before he gives it or pulls it and same on the pitch. It's definatly something that needs fixed during the offseason! But as for coach Rice, he's not the one dropping it.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
