hate to interrupt all this sp "basketball" talk but how is vic doing these days? read on facebook where he was sick. hope he is on the mend. great guy and coach. i agree with the coach stone thing. good fella and he bleeds orange and black. coach phillips did a very commendable job considering he never really had the time for player development. I've been in those spots before. sp is a great place. go pirates!

What kind of mess is this? That Stone man has went and told that Reynolds man our secrets and beat us last year. The only way that Grider should take that stone man back is if he will tell Grider that Reynolds mans secrets. Im not joking either pirate Mike.

Roy, you really sent than Stone man over there to that Swamp to learn that Reynolds man's secretes and where he keeps his snakes.  Did you get Dillard Field mowed this week or did that Bubba man forget to show up?

bring him for basketball

Coach Stone bled orange & black, SP needs a guy that will work to improve and be involved with the feeder program. A successful high school coach has to be sensitive to and recognize the importance of the youth programs more so in baseball & basketball. Edited by OLD PIRATE

Wes did a great job with baseball. He did a great job in football. He has never coached hs basketball in his life. The community wants a basketball coach...an experienced one. Now he should have never been allowed to leave this community. Great person. I say right the wrongs. Hire him back as assistant football and head baseball coach. Bring in a proven basketball coach. If you want a good team to compliment that nice facility we have.

Old Pirate says...."The Community"....., seems that jest might be a stretch. Old Pirate says an experienced proven coach may not be all that needs consideration here! Point here is simple, Phil Beene was never a HS head football coach before SP, neither was Don Grider, neither was Danny Wilson in football or baseball and later as head HS girls basketball, Vic Grider in football or softball, Sam Brooks in basketball. So OP says you have a mute point from this skillet heads perspective!!!! " The Community" should want someone that will work and get heavily involved in the youth & feeder programs. OP is not opposed to an experienced coach but history proves that ain't a sure thing and fresh young coaches often times work out great! Edited by OLD PIRATE
