MARSHAL IS GOOD BUT THESE GUYS GOT TO REALIZE THAT THEY NEED TO PUT ON SOME WEIGHT TO PLAY AT THE NEXT LEVEL...AND RUNNING THE VEER AND  THE WING T WILL GET YOU INJURED FASTER THAN SOME OF THE OFFENSES....THAT'S WHY ALOT OF COLLEGES DO'T RUN THEM....SOME OF THE SMALL ONES DO...BUT NOT THE BIG ONES...

Agree with putting on some weight.   And agree the type of offense is more punishing on the players.

Don't fool yourself - #5 is a player. Might want to ask your defense what they thought about him? And I agree - you are really slow.

Me personally, yes slow - and I do agree #5 is fast, but on at least one of those runs, any back from either team could have taken the hand off and scored.

So question for those of you who know - was # 5 recruited by Tennessee?   I don't see them on the schools that offered him a scholarship.

The mystery whistle on the interception six was irrelevant. There were penalties on that play that would have nullified whatever happened on the play. Get over it already. I have not seen so much whining by supporters of a team that won in my life. If your team had lost, then complain but this complaining when your team won it just plain arrogant.

The game was close in the end not because of the referees but because one team decided they were not going down without a fight and played to win in the 2nd half. That is what you all are really mad about - the game ended close and made West look very beatable.

I just want to make sure I get your statement correct here. Are you saying that the 1 seed undefeated Rhea County team did not play to win in the first half, but only decided to start playing the second half? So it was like they gave West a head start or something? It had nothing to do with the flags or the points taken off the board, but it was only because Rhea County decided to play?

Secondly, if you get completely just hosed by any measurable standard by a group of officials you just smile and say great - we beat the opposition as well as the officials? Just to be sure I have it correct - you have to sit there and just take it as long as you manage to win? Are you just so accustomed to this level of officiating you just think this is normal?

He was offered by a nationally ranked Georgia Tech team - who beat Georgia today. And again I ask, what did your defense think about 5? Edited by MeritIII

I'm not a supporter of West high school , if Rhea co would of won the game I would be pulling for you guys next week ... most people making comments about the officiating are fans of other teams .... nothing arrogant about pointing out terrible officiating . Yes West won .... but I hope that crew is no where close to Cookeville next week , and that's why I think it's worth mentioning just how bad they were . Nothing against Rhea County at all , you guys had a great season .

You are wrong. Obviously the rules you understand are incorrect. How come you won't answer the question about the receiver's eligibility? And virtually everyone on here on not supporters of the team that one. Just people who believe in fair play for the kids who play the game.

But if it makes you feel better, keep believing EVERYONE else is wrong and you are correct. I was taught as a child, when virtually everyone disagrees with you, you may wish to look closer at your argument.

Can anyone with the game copied tell us what the official said regarding the whistle and penalty? Did he say "dead ball foul" or "after the play" or something totally different than that. I, for one, am certainly man enough to say I am wrong if he indicated the fouls were during the play. I understand the rules and would buy the other posters argument if that is the case.

When I've been at a televised high school game, I don't recall ever being able to hear the official's explanation. Usually I am left guessing as to the details unless it is obvious. It sounds as if those of us who watched the game on TV with commentators, multiple angles and replays, and able to hear the officials comments didn't see the game nearly as well as those who were there. Just a thought.

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
