Good to see football talk again. Lots of valid questions yet to be answered. O-line, secondary, and so on. No different than any other pre-season. Players will work hard, talent will come and go, from time to time all of us will know wayyyyyy more than the coaches, Higgins will be worth the price of admission, and we'll all have a great time most Friday nights.

Great post ORNole. Alright have any of you looked at offensive stats. The offense averaged a lot of points this year.  Their offense the year before made great strides with Henderson about breaking several passing records. Same coaches/same system. Their defenses made great strides this year.  But if you know anything about football a couple of benefits really helped defense. Both years they looked prepared and made adjustments. But this year.

1. The best offensive threat in the regular season was Farragut, AC and Clinton.  Farragut and AC were without their starting QB. Clinton hung a lot of points on them.

2. The next good offensive team was Gibbs. they didn't have the talent but did give OR trouble more because of their scheme (which is not wing T even though they have double wing).

3. OR offense did not turn the ball over in the regular season much.

4. OR had a great kicking game and return game. They always would turn the field in OR favor. Most times the other team started in bad position.

5. They were much  more opportunistic. Athletic ball hawking secondary and Lb's making plays.  Two 6'5 DE that disrupts passing games.

So to sum up offensively from a football observer they were not bad at all.  Playoff ball it's play here and a play there.  Everybody you play is better. The Chattanooga area team was much more athletic and played a faster pace game.

Cleveland, Rhea Co., and Soddy Daisy offensively were much more athletic than Karns, Halls, Gibbs and Powell .

A lot of middle school and pee wee football teams were probably more athletic than Powell
