Being Peabody has a coach who won 5 straight state championships and won 75 games in a row at one point, I think he can handle the Ross factor. It's the Zeman factor I am not sure the can handle.

Yep! He lead a nationally ranked 5A South Panola, MS team to the state championship 5 years in a row coming away with 4 gold balls..... This is his 2nd year with us, and he's brought us to the Dance.

 

Don't discount our guys though. You never know who the star players will be. The talent is spread across the team. Coach Woods knows when to let each player shine. It may be a rushing game, possible passing, possibly both! They have the talent where it's needed.

 

It's going to be a good game to say the least! Roll Tide Roll!

I've been reading comments on this page. Someone earlier asked who had seen Peabody this year. I have. At UC we have probably the best team we've ever had. Looking back on this year, Peabody was easily the best team that we played, including NCS.They can run, they can pass,  they are fast, and they won't give up. Good luck TIDE.

Ambassador is not a Marion fan. Ricky woods is a coaching legend. Ricky Ross is an up and comer. I'm not sure we have the horses for Peabody. Way to many athletes in this game. Hopefully it rains all day and Peabody turns it over. I will say Peabody is probably 14+ points better than us but this team keeps finding a way to win. I think with both teams second half adjustments that the team with the lead in the first half is gonna be the winner. Marion's only shot in this game is for Zeman to get 40+ carries and to shorten the game. Ride the horse that got you there.

MC played the worst first half I have seen all year (even Ross said that). Grace did play very well and had a great game plan to stop Zeman but it left that sweep open and that's why we kept running it over and over. MC dominated the 2nd half and that was the difference in the game. Grace actually should have tried to throw it more. They had 94 yds rushing in the game with 55 on 1 play that was a bust by a LB. 81 passing yds. We heard all week how they would just run all over us. Didn't happen. Also as expected conditioning came into play. Those boys were gasping for air in the 4th but anyone who follows MC football knows what kind of shape we are in.

true the sweep hurt them but being honest no fumble from the big pass play or the no late hit and time would have expired no?

If you're going to take turnovers away then take ours away and Grace doesn't score at all. It's a part of the game. Our kid held him up and stripped the ball away and held him back from getting to the ball.

Guy MC won. Why would you argue? Point I was making is I believe Grace came out and played good physical football and I thought personally they would be big and slow and not physical and from where I sit the two silly mistakes gave MC enough time to get down the field and score. Case closed yes they ca,e out in the second half and played better but The drives MC was making were not quick scoring drives even though they were making 5 or 6 yards per play. It was still eating time off the clock. Time they didn't have to waste. Enough of that - I'm done

 

Would like to hear more about Peabody- hope this is another nail biter just like last night. Hate to pay $12 for a one sided blowout I don't care wether it's the team I'm rooting for or against.

Oh I'm not arguing I'm just stating facts. I've seen enough film on Peabody to know they are good but both teams are good if you make it to the title game. Being a fan I support the kids and $12 isn't an option. Haven't missed a game in years so I will be there.

      Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.

      I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.

      I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!

      Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
