I disagree...I think we should pay them more yet hold them accountable for poor performance  so we can have more people interested in doing it and keeping their job. With the little they make now if T

It's simple.  Call it if it's obvious.  Keep the game under control on the field.  Quit worrying about the sidelines and let the coaches do that.  WHEN a mistake is made, own up to it and talk to the

Those guys have always been sensitive. I remember Coach Brooks getting a technical up at Sale Creek for shouting at one of the Pirates across the floor. A ref gave him a technical. Coach asked him what he did and the ref gave him a second technical. Coach then called him a chicken poop son of a belligerent female cur. The ref didn't know what that meant, but he through Coach out of the game.

I remember that happening. I believe that was in the late 70's or early 80's.

And congrats on finishing first place overall in the ( regular plus playoff season ) CoachT Big Ones contest.  :thumb:

Admittedly, I don't see as many 1A and 2A games as I should.  Mainly because the larger schools are an easier drive for me, and I don't like driving a lot in the dark and in traffic.  Although I did watch all the state championships this year including the 1A and 2A games.  I did see the 1A and 2A state games and can't recall anything crazy or big mess ups in those games.  (I missed the privates on Thursday)  Are you guys saying a couple 5As or 6As will get better zebras than a 1A or 2A matchup?  Why is that?  I'm attempting to wrap my pea-brain around this.  pujo, I'm in your area for Friday night games.  I'm curious to what you think.  pujo, do you think better refs are sent to the DB versus Science Hill or Greeneville vs South games, rather than Cloudland, Hampton, etc? Do you think the 1A or 2A state zebras are lower on the totem pole than the 5A or 6A?

      Night to night thing pudding, you get refs that  try to call everything and some that just let um play. IMO this year was better than usual. I do think in most cases,refs do the best they can.

       Just watch the NFL, you see bad calls and no calls in every game. They even get calls wrong with instant replay. Some officals need to know the rules better ,but as far as judgement calls, they are human and make human errors.

      I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.

      I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back

      That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef

      One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.

      If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
