gunslinger150
I am working with a coach who just contacted the school. He is a successful lower level college coach who wants to be in the area. Runs a Spread "Run" offense though and Knox county Schools could screw anything up so who knows. QSouth89
HTV, I know in the past there were instances where coaches were hired and given a waiver or a set amount of time in which to complete their certification. I'm not aware of that happening under the current superintendent. If they want to do what's in the best interest these players and maintain the success of the program without starting all over, then they should give Coach Lane this opportunity. With Common Core and all the new standards coming in, a teacher has to be certified. Accountability is being tied to academic progress and teachers have to be certified in the subject areas they are teaching. But there are ways around it. In the past they would issue an apprentice license while you worked towards your certification. Edited January 9, 2015 by QSouth89
OakRidgeKat
Yes, there are ways around it, but the principal would have to really go to bat for a noncertified applicant. That's the big if. Will the West principal do that?
