Not sure about John Allen. I wonder if there is a chance Signal goes with someone new. I heard at work that there is a few from the Seq. Valley area that could have some interest. One I think lives at Signal now. With a few former Head coaches already on staff, is it possible they go that route, and then hire some assistants to fill one of these teaching jobs.

Tell some of those not familiar with Signal Mountain what is most appealing about the job.

I'm a little biased, of course, but I'll take a stab at this. To be a new school (just opened in 2008), we have a well developed and supportive booster organization, and the elementary and middle school feeder programs are very strong. I think there were 75 kids on the Middle School team this year, and they had a very good season.

The families and community are very supportive of all aspects of the school, including the athletic programs.  For the most part, I think most of the kids come from good families and have a strong work ethic and high expectations for success.

I don't mean to imply that other schools don't have these same characteristics. I'm just trying answer your question.

This job is one of the top 2 programs in Chattanooga. Troll hit it on the head. Lot of folks pick at them but most folks do not know the work that goes in up there. Most everything up there started from grass roots and they work for everything they got. It is also a tru community school, that is embraced by all up there. They will have there pick at the coach they want.

Much better than East Hamilton or Ooltewah. Walk on the campus of Signal then go to Ooltewah.

Signal has much more financial, community and Administrative support than East Hamilton. So yes better job than East Hamilton or Ooltewah!

JUST LIKE EAST HAMILTON..SIGNAL IS A GOOD SCHOOL...BUT I WOULDN'T TRADE THE DRIVE TO OOLTEWAH FOR EITHER...RIGHT OFF 75...YOU CAN SEE THE WHOLE CAMPUS...AND WE WIN....#LOP

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
