tennesseeannouncer
Play for the name on the back of the jersey as well as the name on the front of the jersey.
Indian
Total chess game. No rules were broken. The goal is to win the state tourney, and if not, to go as far as possible. There are several roads that lead to the championship game. I have seen coaches dismissed for this.

Very doubtful administration will address the situation, but this game ruined the integrity of high school athletics.
BasketballInsider37604
That's funny. Haven't prifessionals been locked up or fined for throwing games? This is no different. Of course homers are gonna say oh we want to get to state. Typical BS
mainpoint
Don't blame the coach, blame the T$$AA for making this a meaningless game. The coach is hired and fired for wins and losses, and I'm not talking about wins and losses in consolation games. If he feels this is the best strategy to help his team reach it's ultimate goal, and if his players know his intent, then I'm pretty sure he could care less what people on a message board or booing in the stands think.
Not2Smart
The only thing I will say as an old has been Coach is: Am I telling my kids I don't believe in you? You cannot beat a certain team? You simply are not good enough. So let's lay down and try to work a problematic system. Whatever happened to: I would like another shot at that team? I believe in you!
summit
Both teams should be thrown out of the region by the TSSAA . Disgrace to high school basketball .

Totally agree. You have a group of kids that have worked hard and given you their trust and confidence. You respond by telling them you have no confidence in them. But hey, it's in your best interest. We can spin it and twist the language in every way possible. At the end of the day, it hurts the integrity of the sport and sends a bad message to the kids. There are several roads that lead to the championship game. You are correct that one of the goals in high school sports is to win. The other goals are to teach young people the value of hard work, team work, and to respect the game and your opponents. The lesson here kids is that when the road gets difficult, quit trying and see if there is an easier path. Good lesson!

Makes you wonder about the character of the coach if he has this win at all costs attitude.

I believe in you! kids know coach B believes in them. That is off the table. If they beat Tullahoma and Oakland they would have to play Blackman anyway to win the Region. Top 2 teams in each region advance. Gives Riverdale a different direction to advance to state tourney. Strategic planning. Business leaders and Generals at war do it all the time. Im sure you guys have heard the phrase "Win the battle but lose the war". No rules broken.
gwh
I just hope none of the kids had college scouts sitting in the stands. That could only hurt their recruitment.
