Actually I'll come to the TSSAA's defense on this one. Brackets weren't drawn up so UC and Mitchell would end up in the championship. Brackets were drawn up so it wasn't possible that any District foes could meet before the championship. Possible Mitchell/UC match-up was just a convenient by product.

 

I thought that the brackets had always been arranged where district foes couldn't meet until the finals.

Yeah, cause you can just bring your own refs (I guess schools own their own referees in the Upper Cumberland) to the State Tournament...
