To break a press the best way, a team should not just dribble through it but should also utilize the pass. Granted some players may panic, however if you look at stats specifically turnovers the three mentioned have more turnovers than some who start. Granted as stated if #1 is out there is a drop off. If you look at stats which is as factual as you can get one starter has less than any of the others and gets ball up the court. Look at the stats and actually observe what the facts truly are.

the facts are zy handles the ball 80% of the time while some stand in the corner and contested jump shots with a bad percentage. I personally think bad shots are as bad as turnovers as other teams usually get easy run outs on them. However, you are correct they should utilize the pass. That's where coaching comes in. Sammy has to get a press offense. Meigs has two superstars and that's zy and Matthew. If the other players are willing to be role players and accept there roles then this team will make a deep run. If kids want to be the superstar and don't accept there role then it will hurt this team and it's possible they could make an early exit. When each kid plays there role this team looks like a well oiled machine

True true. Arnold and Ledford had 48 of our 64 vs Meigs. We desperately need 2 more guys to start knocking in quality shots. We need both those guys combining for 40+ per game to win. But our first quarter was so bad and Arnold only had 2 in the first Q. He took too long to get it cranking but played his butt off the last 3 quarters. But we only had 2 people in double digits yoir box score was more balanced.

 

Arnold and Ledford had 15 combined vs webb and we lost by 40. Webb isn't any better or worse than Meigs......

aren't a couple of those guys freshmen? Most really good freshman/young players are just gonna be inconsistent. It's hard for any team to be consistent if they start a couple of young players.

walker is a senior. But yes gettlefinger and Ledford are freshman. And they are very talented. Ledford is an absolute stud on the court. And gettlefinger handles the ball as well as any freshman in the area, But they do make freshman mistakes as well which is to be expected

Yep Glad we have them!! 😉 Connor is especially glad his last two years are with CJ and Grant.

District 4a standings as of now... (Alone at the top, 3 way battle for 2nd, 3 way battle at the bottom)....

1. Oakdale 5-0. They remain on top and have a two game lead about halfway in the district slate.

2t. Coalfield 3-2. Split with Wartburg, beat OS.

2t. OS 3-2. Beat Wartburg, lost to Coalfield.

2t. Wartburg 3-2. Split with Coalfield, lost to OS.

5. Sunbright 1-4. Split with Oneida.

6. Jellico 1-5. Beat Oneida.

7. Oneida 1-5. Split with Sunbright.

 

It's going to be a fun next few weeks to see how this plays out. Can Oakdale stay on top? Who will push thru and get 2nd and push Oakdale? Can any of the bottom 3 make a run at 4th?
