No reason games couldn't have been played today with earlier times. Knox County should've been in school.

So should all of the counties that were closed. I agree games could've been played early.

Total agreement Q. Knox County held the district tournaments hostage last year with their no school no play policy. Its embarrassing that some districts had no champion because it snowed a few days before and they chose to err on the side of caution. No one missed work today except teachers in East Tn.

I agree wholeheartedly but when you teach at the alternative school like I do, you welcome any break lol

Nope all there.....nice kids just not as much talent for their coaches to work with. The point guard is a good football and basketball athlete. He had 0 in the GCA game at gca but had like 20 in the first game.

. Very fair statement! We can't match up 5 on 5. GCA has way too much size and too many weapons! We only have 2 players with any minutes prior to this season. Both starters since Freshman year. A lot of athletes only play football and baseball at GB these days. You only have a few that do all 3. Many boys at GB don't play sports period anymore once they get in HS. Too hard to keep up the grades and attend practices and have any life left for their hobbies. At a small school you need all you can get and really need a few of those 6'4 and 6'5 kids playing.

Some folks at GCA really dont care for Greenback but I always loved playing you guys in any sport. Great fan support! By the way still the nicest gym in the Region at the new school!

I think it had something to do with conflicting dates. With make up games due to weather I don't think either school wanted to play 4 games in a week to end the season. Edited January 24, 2016 by QSouth89

Catholic plays 2 games this week but due to wrestling and freshman games there really wasn't anywhere to squeeze the game in and the last two weeks Catholic plays 3 games each week. No need to play a fourth when it's not a district game. Trust me we were looking forward to a rematch. We played you guys and our football players had literally two days of practice. Now that they're legs are under them it would be interested to see how we look too.

So at this point, with little more than a two weeks left before tournament time, what's the run down of each district (top to bottom) with strengths, weaknesses, and chance of winning district tournament or at least advancing to the region.  Any top teams that could have problems based on a certain matchup that might come their way?

Would say District 3 is Meigs' to lose. Haven't seen Harriman so I'm not sure about that matchup. Where are the district and region tournaments at this year?
