Haha you are hilarious stars but we do have a lot more talent then some ppl think... our only downfall is that we will probably have a freshman at qb... The kid is a stud but if he is thrown to the wolves (maryville) too soon it may not be a pretty sight for the Falcons, I just wanna see how this team responds to being the underdog most of these kids have never lost or trailed for more than a few minutes for that matter... It will be interesting to see how they respond to the challenge.

FHSa12 eye saw yung Xavier Malone inn tha Kaintuck-Tinnersee Fewchure Stars gaim....He iz vurry talentid and haz a strong arm and looks like a seenyore inn size....Eye saw him a few yeer baick in GQ's QB/WR caimp att MHS and he wuz a standout throwin' tha bawl then.....Eye all tha sudden thawt if'un thait yung man's famlee iz satisfied wif thair garbige servuss...... B)

Fultun allways haz tons ov talint and speed..... :popcorneater:

Careful now or you will ruffle some DB Indian feathers...    DB is the state's winningest program and they have just as many state titles as Maryville.

No they don't, more wins yes but not near as many titles. The wins come from having maybe 1-2 teams worth a flip on your schedule every year.

Sorry to disagree but DB has 13 state titles ( http://www.hsfdatabase.com/tn_dbhsfaf.htm )

Guys I am not saying that DB beats Maryville on Oct 2, but think about it, Maryville has 5 new teams to prepare for, teams that they have not been used to playing year in and year out.   It is more difficult to prepare for a team like DB because you have fewer common opponents, the distance between the schools makes it harder to send spies and scouts, etc.         Maryville cannot win every game forever and ever amen, so why not put all this together and think that maybe, just maybe, DB could sneak in a win?       Likely?   No         Possible?  Certainly

Good points. Always possible. But won't be for lack of spies/scouts. Stars has some strong connections up that way. Plus, the murvil satellite still passes over that area every afternoon.

.....  Sigh .....    Ok we'll just give Maryville the win and forget about even playing the game..

Well if you want to talk about this years upcoming game(s) then that's cool. But bringing up previous wins and state championships will likely turn this thread into a mud slinging contest. Not between DB and Maryville fans but between DB and the DB haters. It always does. DB's wins and state championships don't count but everybody else's does. That's just the way it is.

Don't be too harsh, Waco has a valid point about DB haters, they do exist up here, mainly because for decades DB has demolished all the other Tri-cities teams year in and year out.       The bottom line is that both these programs (DB & Maryville) are rich in history and tradition, so when they get together there is no way the past is not going to be talked about.      And I guarantee the Maryville visitor side will be overflowing with Kingsport fans on Oct 2

I look forward to hosting DB at WB this year.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
