Why doesn't maryville play other states top teams?

Recommended Posts

Lets all face the reality here. The reason that Maryville doesnt play the big schools or big named out of state schools is the $$$$$$. The flow of money and open enrollment fees keeps flowing for one reason, they win. The losses would tarnish their man made dynasty and would stop the flow of cash and players into the school!!

Funny how everybody's an expert ... And also funny how with just a few words it's obvious how jealous some people are

There's a lot of truth in what you said.  Maryville is very much like the smartest kid in summer school.  You figure the coach would try and throw in a decent opponet with all those creampuffs.  And don't give me Alcoa....they are a 4A team that plays a soft schedule too.

Not jealous at all ( good attempt to spin it , as expected )

Well maybe your right pepvol, we're jealous because big bad MHS cheats us in wanting to see how you stack up with the likes of Hoovet and Trinity

So laugh it off , give us your usual excuses

We're done

You got that right! We are a man made Dynasty and the man is George Quarles.

As high school football fans, we always want to see a great game between heavyweights. As a coach, you get paid to win games. It is not about what teams you beat in the season unless it puts you in a better playoff position. It is about winning the one at the end.

Maryville has a system that works, so, I can't blame them for sticking with it.

How cute we have a hater party going here ... Maybe I'm sick and wrong but the more you guys Whine the more I Love it . It does surprise me to see a riverdale fan joining in now though ... Usually a fan from a great Program like Riverdale has heard this kind of whining and crying before and doesn't sink to that level ....

Its not jealousy. Just imagine that one the the big Rutherford County Schools had open enrollment. Every kid in the county would go to the best football school there and that team would be one that even Maryville would have a hard time competing with. When the TSSAA separates the private public schools open enrollment schools will fall into the private group and they will then just play with the Ensworths of the state...

    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
