Back to the thread. SweetSci, heard of any QB change at OR yet?

Word on the street is that OR held back last week, knowing that the DB scouts were there.    Is this what you mean, they played just enough to win last week and then throw a surprise QB at DB this week?       My my those sneaky little wildcats......

Actually, that is false.  Absurdly so.  Google "Benefits of Music Education" and in less than a minute you will find enough studies to fill an airport hangar documenting how students in music programs (not just band) perform significantly better in academics and or more prepared for life after high school.  Not to mention the all of those who make a career in music, either as a performer, teacher, or otherwise.

I'm not saying music is the only extra-curricular that does this (athletics have their own benefits, as well), nor am I trying to hijack the thread.  But to say that football is the only reason that band exists is pure foolishness.

Agree that music students perform better academically, etc., but correlation doesn't equal causation.  In other words, it might not be the music making the students who participate in it perform better.  It could just as easily be that the students who tend to gravitate toward music are, in fact, on average smarter than those who choose not to do music.  I  lean toward the latter explanation.

As I'm typing I am watching one of the Higgins highlight reels.  And OR's QB from last year is throwing it on the money for the most part.  Granted, from what I've seen there are not too many def. backs around Higgins-but they are still nicely thrown passes.  I've not seen the QB from this year, but just from what other OR fans have said I would be shocked if we did not see a different QB lace them up.

Well reading through some of the OR fans posts from their game last week the QB from last season actually led the team to a 12-1 record.  The reason for their QB change this year was supposedly b/c their offense has changed to one that fit a more mobile QB.  I'm not saying this is true, I'm just stating what I've read.  The whole week 1 game plan that OR had could have been a huge smoke screen for the Tribe.  Guess we'll find out Friday.

Guys, I don't know who will start @ QB. I haven't been to practice yet this week, so I really don't know what's going on there? Were we sandbagging? I seriously doubt it. But, I seriously doubt we showed remotely close to a full hand, either. As one of our posters earlier today said, we just never could get into rythm offensively last Friday, due to penalties for the most part. The offense had no flow whatsoever. Most of that was caused by penalties, bad execution on our part, and frankly Clinton's defense. Their coaches had a great game plan and it showed. This game is a huge mystery to me. I have no earthly idea how it will go.

That's fast.I remember the Clinton QB coming to DB a few years ago and he ran a 4.5.Doesn't sound fast when you hear people saying 4.3, but there isn't but a very few players anywhere that are that fast.

That's because most of those "4.3's" you hear people spout off about are utter BS. Their aren't but a handful of NFL players who are that fast. Anytime I hear someone just throw out a 4.3 I just shake my head and giggle to myself. 4.5 40 is gittin' it, especially for a 6'4''-6'5'' kid.

4.5 and 6 ft 4 with athletic ability can cause havoc in the SEC

    • The amount of people pooing on UH is crazy. They're a noticably better team than last year when they made state and were competitive , AND they run ruled Eagleville a few weeks ago. Now I understand Eagleville was missing a few guys, but they still. They. Run. Ruled. Eagleville. 1st single A team to run rule Eagleville since when? Pre 2017??
    • If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by  (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
    • They will probably, struggle
    • Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.
    • What does everyone have in the final 8? In no particular order. 1. Eagleville 2. Gordonsville 3. Greenback 4. Oakdale 5. South Pitt/ East Robertson-- not sure 6. Richland 7. Halls 8. Union City
