will they be eligible this year or next?

Depends on if their season ends before they move. If so, they won't be eligible this year. If they move before their season ends then they will become eligible. We had a kid come from Detroit back several years ago and it was too bad he had just finished his season because he ended up playing in the Canadian football league I believe.

From that Hargis mans paper

SOUTH PITTSBURG PIRATES (6-2) AT BOYD-BUCHANAN BUCCANEERS (8-0)

Storyline: This has been one of the area's better small-school rivalries for nearly 20 years, and while it is no longer a region game, it should provide plenty of fireworks. Boyd-Buchanan's defense is among the area's best — allowing an average of just nine points per game — and is a main reason the team is ranked No. 1 in Class 2A. The Bucs have given up more than 14 points just once all season, including a total of 10 in the past three games. South Pittsburg is beginning to find its offensive identity as first-year quarterback Hogan Holland continues to improve and add balance along with a committee of four to five capable running backs. Those factors have combined to help the Pirates score 35-plus points during a five-game winning streak.
