jimbo44 has probably forgotten more about girl's basketball than you'll ever know! Do you want me to talk to my ole cuzz dodgen and see if he'll give 'lil Petunia' more playing time?

I appreciate the thought, but I'll have to pass. I'm afraid he might start to coach her and teach her not to dribble and to pass the ball into the parking lot. Or that's about all he as coached so far this year.

I don't how many played tonight, but eight out of the fourteen on my list scored.  There are no freshmen on my list. It was a mercy rule game. Good coaches play as many players as possible and keep the score under the 35 point margin, to extend the playing time for younger players.

Bray 6-Brown 9-Gardenhire 7- Jones 8-Leftwich 16-Luna 17-Quillen 1-Sparkman 5.

Same Cumberland Co team we beat twice last year had Blackman by 6 or 7 going to the 4th quarter . Wound up getting beat by 11 , getting out scored 25-9 4th quarter . A loss is a loss , but pretty good fight . Cumberland Co should be go undefeated in 6aaa . Crossville coach won'.t miss Haley .

Not the same Blackman team, graduated a few just like Sparta. . Different year different teams. Last year is last year this year is this year.

I remember last year at the start of the season, everybody said we were down, we lost too many seniors the year before. (Hudgens, Foster, Roberts, Cash, and maybe Wilson (cant remember). All starters. So we started the season (2014) with at least 4 new starters and had a great year. Its the same deal this season. All anybody is asking is to be competitive this year. Some of us in White co. has noticed we don't look very strong this year. And we are starting to question the coach some. All I'm asking is, if the season goes as its been said on this thread "last in the district" Are you, the Dodgen fans, going to be able to eats your words with dignity? Or is it going to be Dodgen's the greatest and the players aren't good enough.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
