I would never under estimate the other team. While no doubt Maryville is always a great team, any given day.... any given team.... The first time you get on a field with a good team that you over look, might be the day you get to watch the playoffs from home

In this situation, do you really believe what you have just typed?? I agree with your "good team" sentiment but come on dude.

Sounds like a lot of great talent. I respect what Coach Quarles, his staff and players have accomplished over the years. Also, you can't forget the booster club, administration and all the support network. Job well done. Maryville is the model progam for Tennessee.  In fact, it seems that it would be impossible to stay on top this long.  Generally, winning runs its course like anything else in life.  Maryville definitely has the formula.

Offense: Very balanced running & passing attack with big play capability at pretty much every skill position. Very good blocking team (line, backs, and receivers). Opponents have a hard time getting off blocks because they play hard until the whistle blows. The effort they give play after play wears out most opponents physically and mentally. They commit very few false start & motion penalties. To top it off, their head coach is a master of both putting together game plans and "in game" adjustments in the rare instances when his game plans aren't working as well as they normally do.

Defense: Fundamentally sound, rarely caught out of position, tackle very well, play with great effort until the whistle blows. # 27 T.D. Blackmon goes all over the field making plays, especially when it matter most. Blocked game winning chip shot field goal last year in state championship game on last play of regulation and then sealed the championship in overtime with an interception on Ravenwood's two point conversion attempt.
