OldRebel2
Not as much as SC spends polishing our trophies in football and girls basketball. ChampsX2 I don't think the trophies that SC has are "tarnished" .

baylorbigdog1976
Here is my short take on this game. I could be completely out to left field on this one but its how i see it. Oakland is a running team with a good defense. I believe if anyone has a shot to beat Maryville this year they will need to mix it up and have a balanced attack. They will need to run and pass effectively . I just do not see Oakland beating Maryville running the ball a majority of the time. Maryville's defense from what I have seen is similar to Brentwood Academy's defense in a sense that run teams have trouble creating enough opportunities to match the score of Maryville's Offense. It will come down to how the teams matchup on both sides of the ball. I do believe both defenses are really good but I think Maryville defense will limit the effectiveness of Oaklands run game and Oakland does not have the ability to score in spades through the air. I also believe Maryville's offense will be able to score points on Oakland's defense in spurts during the game. A run team could only beat Maryville IMO this year if the offense sputters, makes mistakes and fails to score. I just don't see this happening. TNBROADCASTER
After doing games from both teams this year I would say this could be the game of the year. Maryville is their usual machine with consistent talent and well coached of course. Oakland has several players that may be more talented than most of the players on the Maryville team. This is the same thing we see every year. Can individual talent rise to the level to be able to overcome a fundamentally sound well coached team? I guess we'll see. The one thing for sure is mistakes will play a big role Friday night. If Oakland can avoid the mistakes and giving up the big plays they will have a shot and could be a close one.
