Public school recruiting in layman's terms: 

 

Coach:  Hello young man.  We have a great school and a great coaching staff.  Don't you want to play for the best to further your athletic career?  All you have to do is move within our zone and you can come to school here free.  

Players Parents:  Won't that be expensive?

Coach:  No, just sell your house and buy one in our zone.  You might even make money on the deal.  And if you don't own a house, quit renting the place you live now and start renting a new one in our zone.  You have to live somewhere, you might as well live in our zone.  Just move, then you can play for us.  

Players Parents:  But won't little Johnny have to sit out a year?  After all, we would just be moving across the street.  

Coach:  No, you only have to sit out a year if you go from public to private and don't move at least 20 miles. You can go public to public and not miss a day as long as you change zones. 

Players Parents:  Wow, this is easy, and cheap!   We can move across the street, be eligible to play immediately, and not have to pay to attend the school!  How do private schools ever compete with that?  Most cost at least $10,000 per year and you have to sit out if you transfer.

Coach:  

 

I'm not saying Peabody recruits, but if a public school wants to recruit, it's much easier than for a private.

Have watched this program since he got there. Absolutely has to have greater talent to win. has not won one game where talent was close or equal. . My houston co boys beat them one year when they were way better than us. He is the proverbial pig in a poke, had a guy tell me once if he would have just handed the ball to Golden Tate he would have won a state championship at JP2. unless he changes and lets his best players determine the game instead of some Playstation offense he comes up with he will lose Friday.

Should be a good game. Kids from Nashville (surrounding area) against kids from kids from West Tennessee (Trenton, Humboldt, Dyer, and even Dresden). Great recruiting job guys.

This Is too funny! We have a game between a public school and private school and the public school is being accused of recruiting. The kid from Dresden was living with his father but moved in with his mother in Trenton. The kind from Dyer doesn't actually live in Dyer but lives out in the county were Gibson Co and Peabody's districts overlap so he could choose where he wants to go. The two from Humboldt you can't blame for wanting to get outta that school system. And since we're open enrollment they can live in Humboldt and go to school in Trenton. No recruiting evolved. Trenton Special School District is zoned enrollment. In fact, there are 7 different school districts in Gibson County. These schools vary from 1a-3a. To my knowledge, none of these schools are open enrollment (Gibson County High school might be open enrollment?)

Actually I believe you can live out of the district and still attend you just have to pay tuition.
