Decent game for the Irish but should have been a larger spread. I can't figure out Alcoa. They seem to have the players but I am not sold on the coaching. Not really sure what they are trying to do on offense or defense and it looks like "organized confusion".

Would love to hear some Alcoa fans takes on the team and coaches.

Made it to the game and not sure what I was expecting have never seen either team play but that was not it. I knew two of the Alcoa players from the Rocky top league. #3 I think it was from Alcoa played pretty well he may have had 25 points. Catholic had several easy baskets and way to many 2nd chance points. Being this is the only time I've seen either team play not going to say much more no way to form and opinion off of one game. Still just not the game I expected.

Sorry you were so disappointed. Snow days tend to do that to teams with the inability to practice and lengthy layoffs. Garrett Anderson (#3) had 19 for Alcoa and Catholic's Davari Reeder finished with 27. Both teams play CAK this weekend. Edited by QSouth89

Disappointed is the wrong word as I have no right to be disappointed. I will say that was quite 27 points. As I stated I wasn't sure what I was expecting. Catholic out played them across the board.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
