CoachT top ten are:

1. East Nashville

2. Fulton

3. Upperman

4. Dyersburg

5. Signal Mountain

6. Harpeth

7. Lewis County

8. Smith County

9. Cheatham County

10. Jackson South Side

Harpeth? They got ran off the floor by Cheatham and East. Cheatham game was 24 to 2 after 1 quarter and it wasn't even a basket it was 2 free throws. They play in the right side of the floor the entire game because the point can't go left. You don't even have Pearl or CPA who would beat Harpeth by 30 Edited by Bamapappy

My state top 10 in AA

1. East Nashville

2. Upperman

3. McMinn Central

4. Fulton

5. Pearl-Cohn

6. Westview

7. Jackson Southside

8. Cheatham County

9. CPA

10. Creek Wood

I don't think East Nashville is #1. 2nd best player on the team tore her ACL and is out for season. I have seen the before/after team and it is not close. Still have a great player in Overton but the girl who tore her ACL was a big, big loss.

Westview went down tonight to Single A Dresden by 25.....Going to be a crazy year folks.

Anybody that went to this game care to give a small anaylsis of what happened?

Simple....Westview needs their point guard back. No one to handle the ball against lots of pressure. Westview also didn't shoot well. She makes that team better just by being on the floor....she is a fighter that doesn't give up. We will see how different of an outcome it is the next go around against Dresden when she is back playing

DMM- I didn't go, but I did talk to a Dresden basketball parent later last night after I had posted. Basic game plan as told by their kid--pressure the inbounds and create turnovers, double team Graves and stop the entry pass to her to low, make Pritchett dribble and not set her feet, stop Moore from shooting uncontested, and pound older Gallimore inside (matchup problem for the small guards on the block). D didn't expect it to go completely the way it did, but they were glad to get the win. Gallimore ended up with nearly 20 last night and the team shot nearly 70% from the floor. Should be a good rematch later on, but Jones should be back. I don't know if she's 24 points better, but she should definitely give some relief to the ball handlers. I may have to skip ours and go to this one to see it myself.

She may not score 24 points herself....but she will make her team at least 24 points better

Right after Christmas. She will be healthy...if they were rushing her then she would be back playing now. Her 6 months of recovery is up. They are holding out till district play starts

6 months is the minimum for an ACL. You think she will be game ready by districts or will Haskins work her in some of the xmas tournament games?

Are you guys really expecting tasia to come back at 100% ? She won't fully trust the knee for a while and add the fact that sitting has added a few pounds and you realize that Haskins will have to ease her back in. Her return will boost team confidence but tasia won't be her old self until next season. Tasia is a heck of a player and I'm so glad everything has gone well with rehab, I just want her to be sure she's ready and not rush things. Great kid, a real winner !!!

Great player. And I saw her at the game vs Liberty and she has gained a few pounds. She will have to get that off to be comfortable as well as not be too heavy on the knee. I think I would have just sat the whole year and come back strong this summer and next season.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
