1 Pearl-Cohn (4-0)

2 East Nashville (4-0)

3 Cane Ridge (2-2)

4 Hillsboro (2-2)

5 Stratford (1-2)

6 Maplewood (1-3)

7 Hunters Lane (1-3)

8 Hillwood (2-2):  that "upset defeat" to Hunters Lane will haunt them

9 Whites Creek (2-2)

10 McGavock (0-4)

11 Overton (0-4)

12 Antioch (0-4)

13 Glencliff (0-4)

14 RePublic (0-4)

Metro-Nashville appears to have two teams that are well above the rest this year.

I’m hoping these teams have started to turn there seasons around now.

Is this the worst season in the history of Metro Football? There seems to be more inept teams than ever before.

This pretty much how it's been for last 4 or 5 years. Only difference is CR not 1st. But PC, Lil East, Hillsboro and sometimes Maplewood, have always been top programs in metro!!!

Until East proves otherwise...PC runs metro.  Interesting that metro rankings are metro Nashville public schools.  True metro area brings Rutherford, Williamson, Wilson, Sumner, and Dickson counties into the mix.  Where do PC and EN rank in this mix?

PP this is and has always been a mnps topic. Goes back several years.

But since you asked I would argue PC is top 5 and EN probably top 10. In this list you would have the likes of BA, MBA, Ensworth, Oakland, Brentwood, Ravenwood, Beech, and CR.

I wouldn’t disagree with your assessment....even when Oakland and Blackman’s thrown in.

That's a pretty big reach. Just bc the border Davidson County doesn't make them metro. Greater Nashville area would be more like it if your adding all those counties. However, PC is still a top 5 team even when you add all those counties to the mix

We are saying the same thing.  The actual term is MSA, Metropolitan Statistical Area....population for Nashville by many standards is ~1.4 million, while Davidson county is only ~500k.  When I hear metro I don’t think of a single county.  Enough of my work terminology!  I don’t disagree with the PC choice.  A lot of respect for them.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
