In a perfect world I agree I would run it every down bc I haven't seen anybody to come close to slowing it down. But Its still Single A ball I don't care how much talent you have, our line plays Both sides of the ball and you will hear the dads moms uncles aunts papaws granny's hollering RUN THE BALL bc it's 2nd down and short. #8 knows how big of a rest it gives the line when they hear him give 60 or 70s pass protection play. This game has evolved from the 80s and keeps evolving we can watch all the game films on vhs in my tv cabinet when that's all they did was run the ball every play and you can ask GFD and ONB what they were doing when the run wasn't coming their way. The line has to get a breather when they can. I hope the coaches run them to death Monday thru Wednesday bc we need it! Lambert has always had Ryans number and Ryan knows it. If Ryans lives by his motto "TAKE WHAT THEY GIVE YOU" be another big win for them cherokees!

I am a fan of the balanced attack. Love the runs and the throws. Keeps them off balance. Whatever wins ballgames! GB Nation was a RB so of course he likes the run, lol. Gotta do them both because you never know when you're going to need one or the other to get the job done. I don't know what you mean by Lambert having Ryan's number. The game he coached last year we took a big lead with great defensive scores so he didn't feel the need to try much fancy passing and we won the game. I am sure it's a great challenge to call plays against an admirable defensive coach but one I am sure Ryan feels he can win again this year. I know his QB will back him up any day along with the rest of our offensive guys. Hunter can't wait for the chess match and feels confident we (Coach Ryan and crew) will win this battle as long as the players execute.

I think its going to be another typical greenback and Oneida game very physical. We can't just stop the run but the pass also so it should be another good game.

That is a very polite and politically correct answer. I would expect nothing less from you especially on an open forum like this. I'm hoping to make this one, if so I should be there plenty early if Alcoa Hwy cooperates lol. We can exchange breakdowns then.

Doesn't Ryan have the advantage over lambert in this series?

Well he went 2-0 last year as a co-head coach.

Yeah I know last year, I watched em both, the first one where GB took the lead early and never looked back. Then the playoffs where we had y'all sweating so hard GFD was cheering our defense on at one point :roflol: you shoulda seen the look on that boys face when he realized what he did.

Will do. When I come to GB I stand with OnB and GFD on the fence so just keep an eye out for the fat guy wearing an Oneida hat in a see of Cherokee gear lol.

    • Yeah I am on board and plan on coming down from the Ridge for some home games, great Friday night atmosphere there.  I'm really hoping SC can get them back going and have some success for those fans and community.
    • Yep I was field level on the scoreboard end throwing ball with Benny when we had that brief lead. Everybody got very excited but it was short lived as Murvil regrouped and went into machine mode. But yeah,  that hit sounded like the crack of a black powder rifle being fire.  I believe Dozier took one like that as a Soph up at Greeneville after on olay block.
    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
    • They do have good community support for sure and did when I coached under Z for 4 years. (I was on that staff that turned them around a little from winning 1 game a year to actually being competitive).  Great Kids and Great Community over there.  They have done some good things with the facilities from when i coached too.
    • I personally will not mind that one bit.  It seems like a really strange fit to me from the git go.
