Not the first time I've heard this. Honest question about Mr Hall-what are his job responsibilities at Wilson Co school district that allow his support to be so influential @ LHS? I know his kids go/went to Wilson Central so he supports WC as a result. But I don't ever hear of MJ being hindered as a result of Hall's support or lack thereof. As a WCSD employee why would his support of LHS be any different than of other schools?

BDP, is this a mutual parting between Harp and LHS or is Harp being forced out? I hear so much about lack of athletes, athletes not coming out for football, kids going to FCS or other county schools (open zoning), political issues. Bottom line, facilities seem top notch but 7-43 since school opened. What gives?

i have heard that it is mutual. i think who we get as next coach will hinge on what district we are put in. if we are with the sumner county schools and other wilson county schools, someone will want the job due to being able to compete. if we are put with the rucos, we will not get a good coach. that is too much of a uphill battle.

Thanks.  All projections I have seen have LHS going with Wilson Co, Sumner, and Metro.

I heard them talking about it on the radio and they had it rumored

Lebanon

Mt. Juliet

Wilson Central

McGavock

Antioch

Station Camp

Hendersonville

Cane Ridge

So you would be pretty much swapping Franklin, Ravenwood and Overton for Cane Ridge, Hendersonville and Station Camp.

But I don't think that will be correct because of the amount of teams. I believe there are supposed to be 49-50 teams in 6A. The easiest way to break that down evenly would be 8 regions with 6 teams and a region or two having 7 teams.

Here is the reality of Lebanon Football. Maybe the coach has something to do with it but I don't believe that's the problem here. Lebanon is a victim of their own towns political decisions. Their choices in not allowing residential expansion and concentrating on industrial and commercial expansion has caused the town to be choked off as it pertains to student body growth. Because of this over the past number of years the major expansion in residential has occurred in the out lying county areas. Thus the growth of Wilson Central. Families want to live where their children will thrive and until the good ole boy powers at be in Lebanon stop lining their own pockets with commercial and industrial business taxes nothing will change. Just look around at the fastest growing areas for high school football. They all have the same thing in common. A great growing residential community that is a draw to families. Lets face it, Lebanon is not an exciting town to live in unless your into fairs and antiques. And until the antiques in office in Lebanon wake up there is not going to be much of a change. Good teams have great communities and good coaches. You have to have a reason for someone to want to live there.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
