Verb58
If I were in the market to get an up and coming coach (which is what I would expect Lebanon to be), I would try to go after the DC at Hillsboro Lopez. He seems to get a lot of the kids at Hillsboro.
slagiatt
they need someone that runs a wide open spread offense that excites players and gets them out to play.. also needs to be young so he can relate to the players bc a school that size with that many athletes shouldnt be that bad Now that is what they really need. This will certainly bring all those presently absent "athletes" out to the fields of pass happy glory. Of course you will need a couple of QB's that can pass a football, and you will need some "catchers". Yes, that could be the answer! Old Coach Harp is just too dumb to realize that the "spread" would solve all his problems. However if they spread too wide; they may really get it put to them, but heck that would definitely be exciting, and get them out to play. So, lets start this here.........."SPREAD IS THE WORD"
workinprogress
Lopez would be a good choice. Not sure he would be interested but wouldn't hurt to reach out to him especially if Clayton leaves hillsboro.
NoWayOut4
I made this statement earlier on another post, but there are 2 young coaches on Centrals staff that could probably be options. The O coordinator is someone my son played with and could be an excellent head coach. They also have a previous head coach on staff as well. MJ has a couple guys as well. I said they had 1 previous metro coach, but was corrected and was told they have 2. They also have a very well respected assistant head coach, strength coordinator, and o line coach. Watertown has some capable people as well.

I would be shocked if he left, considering how good Hillsboro is suppposed to be next year. But I do think Lopez will make a great head coach one day. No one cares about the players more than him. workinprogress
Honestly I was surprised Clayton stayed this year with the change in admin. I think if Clayton could find a better job he would go. He's already retired as a teacher. Lopez does a good job and gets kids motivated. I'm sure he's learned a lot from Clayton as far as being a head coach.

I am on the same page with you, though...I thought if Clayton was going to leave, it would have been before this year. I think he wants at least one gold ball before he hangs it up, and next year's team has a heck of a chance to give it to him.

workinprogress
Chief yes it was a bad change for Clayton imo. Pelham is no shrader. Shrader was very supportive of athletics and of Clayton and his staff. Not saying pelham is not but I know shrader was easy to work for.
