TheAmbassador
Reynolds qb, and Mitchell RB.. When we played them I always thought they would have been been better off not running the wing t. A disciplined defense could always shut down or give that offense trouble. When did they go away from the T? What year?We didn't run the WingT. We were primarily side saddle sing wing from 1969-1992. Coach Grider did let SP change it up a little at times in 1984 though. Football9998
No matter the outcome or winner of this game, both teams have had a great year. Unfortunately after this game, one of these team's season is over. One thing that is a FACT is that the winner of this game is more than deserving of being able to represent the east in Cookeville. The atmosphere is gonna be electric and there's nothing like small town football. Would rather watch it than 6-A football on any given day. Good luck to both teams and Go Kees! cherokean
Just a few questions on SP coaching tree for the SP faithful...Was Danny Wilson the successor to Big Grider? and what year did Wilson leave for Heritage? Was Little Grider the successor, during his first tenure, to Wilson? After Wilson left Heritage didn't he go to Cleveland? The Drunken Sailor
Yes, he directly followed Don Grider and was followed himself by Vic Grider. Wilson's last season was in 1996. He did leave here and go to Heritage. When he left Heritage he went to Cleveland as an assistant before eventually becoming the head coach there.
