Who will be the next coach at GCA?

I hear it might be a guy out Florida that coaches at a private school down there. Not sure on the name. He's won a few state titles and is good friends with the AD and Hammond. Brewster would be a great choice, but not sure they'll give him a chance. Woodard would be a awful hire. Plus he's some kind of kin to Mckamey. He'll probably go with him.

Heard the same thing.

In response to the latest thread (Its not hard to find) that seems, by the very nature of its unwarranted title, to want to try and tear down a great school and program:

The foundation, the upper class leadership on the remaining roster, the future, the leadership in administration, in the classroom and with the terrific coaches that are still at GCA HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE SOLID in the 19 year history of this program. What the Rams need right now is a Godly man to bring an infusion of excitement, fundamentals, work ethic, dedication to teamwork and an overall commitment to doing things the right way with Christ at the center of EVERYTHING that occurs on that campus.

We lost a great coach. I wish him and his family nothing but the best from this day forward. They are an awesome family! They've been more than terrific to my son and my family over the years. We will miss them for sure. However, I learned a long time ago you cannot worry about or dwell on things out of your control. The sun will come up in the morning....The Good Lord willing!

When that sun comes up, what if........GCA had the opportunity to hire an incredibly humble, Godly person that was also a proven winner of championships on the field? What if......GCA had the chance to hire a huge name respected among all of his peers in ETN? What if.........all of this could be found with one man, while at the same time keeping the truly awesome coaches we currently have on staff? What if they formed a brain-trust together...working as one to create a coaching team that was truly second to none?

For the sake of the kids in this program, and the parents who've poured their hearts and souls, AND pocket books into this program, my prayer is that this man will reveal himself (or, has he already) in short order, and the admin will be able to see the opportunity for what it would be.......A GAME CHANGER! When The Lord sends His man.....it might just not be who you all thought it would be. Be open minded, step to the plate and swing for the fences! We owe it to our kids to not miss out on the homerun if it is teed up!!!!

Think of the possibilities.......WHAT IF.........

CRB would look great in the right color of blue (GCA...that is). If they can get him...they should pull out all of the stops! Great Christian man...coached D1 talent...proven leader...proven winner. Couldn't ask for a better candidate to continue the Ram program! Woooooo!

And THERE you have it Ladies and Gentlemen, from the Stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' son of a gun, himself!

I'm sure there are several candidates for the position. Coach Brewster was mentioned earlier, but he's indicated to me that he's very comfortable and happy in his current position. He's a guy that loves the players and they love playing for him. Also, we've got Coach Kareken remaining on staff. Some may not have heard about Coach K on the HS level, but he won a Championship as the MS HC before moving up to the HS squad. He will be a HC at the HS level in the near future. Both of those guys are as solid as they come and will provide a great foundation for whoever the next HC is.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
