OAK RIDGE 2017 FOOTBALL

A sophomore sprinter should feel pretty good about qualifying for the state meet. The guys from Section 1 placed 9, 12, and 15, and one Section 1 qualifier didn't run. West Tennessee and Middle Tennessee sprinting are a whole different animal. Graham looks good mechanically, and he should be much better when older. Too bad he wasn't at 100%.

John Huotari reported that he's been dealing with a hip flexor since early April, so you're right. Didn't realize that he'd run the 100 in 11.1 earlier this year. That's pretty strong.

Oh yeah he is blazing fast when fully healthy. By the time he's a SR it wouldn't surprise me to see him win the state in the 100M.

Can't believe nobody from the Ridge hasn't said anything about the Oak Ridge Football team putting American Flags on the graves of Veterans last weekend. I know I am proud of them for it. Plus my Dad was one of the guys that got one.

Thanks Wildcats!!

Great post.Your dad deserved it!I thank him and these young men. Edited by orngnblk

I am NOT trying to start any rumors! I read something that made me think we might be losing one of our coaches. Anyone heard anything similar. Remember I live in Chattanooga and have zero inside sources so don't make a big deal out of this.

How are summer workouts going.

Guess what...by stating "I am NOT trying to start any rumors"...that's exactly what you've done! LOL...I haven't heard about any coaches leaving but I'm in no position to hear something like that. School is still going on so summer workouts probably haven't started yet.

School is still going on and it's June 5?

    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching stuff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching stuff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
