As I said early martin shouldn't be as low as 5th, but i think dooley beat him 2 out of 3 last year. Dooley is the returning Father Ryan champ, pinning the state champ and former Ryan invitational champ in the finals. The #1 seed got beat by a MD in the RYAN finals as well and got beat by MD in the state tourney. My guess is they used a track formula and not voted on by the coaches... anyway you have to beat the best to be the best. My bet, whoever wins 120 will be OW and maybe best match at the same time.

Does it really matter where a wrestler is seeded?  The real studs will rise to the occasion and the pretenders will fall to the side.  All you can hope for with a seed is that the top wrestlers do not meet before the 1/4 finals.

Of course it matters.  For the very reason you said so that the top wrestlers reach the finals.

Unfortunately mother nature forces this to a 1 day tournament.  As in past weather shortened tournaments, this means first two rounds are now single elimination.  This is necessary due to the 5 match rule.  Wrestlers losing in the quarterfinals will then be pulled down to the first round of consos.

No what I said was that so the top wrestlers do not meet before the 1/4 finals.  I also said that the real studs will rise to the occasion and the pretenders will fall to the side.  IMO, winning is the only thing that matters so if you get beat in the prelims, 1/4 finals, semi-finals or finals it's all the same, YOU GOT BEAT!  You can rest assured that there is one coach in the tournament that will throw any trophy other than a championship trophy in the dumpster and that includes a state runner-up trophy.

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
