I agree with that statement. I said that when he was a 7th grader. I think his arm might actually be a little stronger than Dresser as a freshman. Not sure he has the receivers Dresser did but it sounds like he has a couple go to guys.

The comment I heard from several Westview fans (& I'm sure we'll hear from most teams) was that they held their own against the State Champs. Yes we went undefeated last year & won our first State Championship but we lost 17 KEY players & the head coach & now we're without what was going to be our starting QB which is also a heck of a receiver. There is still a lot of talent on this Dresden team but it's going to take a few weeks to work the kinks out. It always seems like a weak point for Dresden unless we luck up on an exchange student. The main thing I took away from last night's game was that we don't have the luxury of boys only having to play one side of the ball like we had last year. We're back to typical 1A football & most of the players never came off the field. Conditioning is going to be key this year. I have faith in our Lions & their work ethic. They're going to be just fine! GO LIONS!!

Last night Dresden really hit Westview.  The Nanney kid brought it all night. I really love the way he plays the game.

Bruceton won 14-0. Really disappointed in our O line. But very impressed with d line.

Okay just some thoughts on the game. 

Bruceton played their butts off first and foremost. 

WC had chances but we Just could not capitalize. 

Our Offensive line must improve if we want a playoff spot. 

Our Dline came out with rust (which ultimately cost us the game. Bruceton's two scores were in the first and early second qtrs) but after we settled in they played very well. I'm very impressed with a freshman D lineman for us. #79 he's 6'4"+ and probably 215 or so. I think he should play o line as well. 

 

Our backs played pretty well considering they had very limited holes. 

We have so much young talent but we need to put some in the W column to reach our potential. Also was impressed with #24 for us, a sophomore rb/lb. He's built exactly like MJD. 

 

For Bruceton #10 and #5 are a good qb rb combo and #6 can hit a hole. #71 is a gargantuan

Lake County played decent last night. Somethings to clean up but overall pretty good. Offense has potential to score alot of points this year. Run defense is stout but secondary needs some work. This team is loaded with sophomores with a few juniors and seniors mixed in. I'm excited to see how much this team will improve throughout the year.

Humboldt and So. Fulton have a bye. 

LC, Dresden, Mckenzie, Greenfield, Fulton City all get the win this week. Greenfield and Bruceton game will be the best game imo.

I agree, but then again I don't see Greenfield beating Bruceston.

Well this is it. If West Carroll can't get a win tomorrow our playoff hopes are probably over before things really get started
