Kids now days want immediate gratification. Football is a sport that teaches delayed gratification. A football players works in the weight room, the practice field and the video room all year for the guaranty of the of 10 games a year. So kids gravitate toward sports like basketball and baseball where you play 2 or 3 games a week. Plus summer league games. Unfortunately life is not immediate gratification. Kids think that when they finish school they are going to go straight into upper management or higher. They do not understand it takes time to work up through life. And that is what football can teach kids.

Spot on BigEd, that was probably your best post here on the T, and I am not being sarcastic. Just seems like we all want instant success, but forget about the word and patience and what it means.
