The Milan fans are awful quiet today!!

As is the case with several local programs, Trenton prepares to play Milan like it's the super bowl. Milan is the team to beat in West Tennessee. No, Milan didn't expect to lose this one. Trenton was much more focused on this one game than Milan was. It showed. The brand new defense was effective as it was not what Milan had prepared for so it took a while for the adjustments to be worked out. It happens.  Hats off to Trenton because all the effort they put into this one game paid off. Milan will be fine.

Historically Milan is the team to beat no problem agreeing with that, especially is the last 3 decades.  Saying that Trenton was more focused on this game than Milan kind of lacks credibility.  These guys play one game a week, it's not like a trap game.  If you don't prepare to play to win, that's on you, that's not an excuse.

I'm guessing they were not expecting to lose.

I'm guessing that you're happy that they did, and guessing that you are envious of their program's tradition too. Milan fans support their team well, and they always give credit where it's due...win or lose. Nobody wins them all (Alcoa and Maryville lost this week too), but the good teams learn and move on to the next one. If Milan fulfills their potential this season they will make a deep run in the playoffs that just may result in a trip to Cookeville, and losing in week two to a good Peabody team might help them to refocus and do just that.

Envious no! I'm as proud of Covington as y'all are Milan I promise. I know when we play each other it will be a battle. We have stopped each other's season several times. We will see y'all in a couple of weeks!! Go Chargers⚡

    • Biggest position to fill is QB. Kamden was special. A 1A team that can run and pass is very dangerous.
    • That would have been Coach Benjamin who was his legal Guardian and the DB coach.  I was the LB's Coach that was barely older than the players (I was going to UT for school and had started at Greeneville since my Sophomore year when Z coached there and he asked me to help coach)
    • Going on over a month now and still nothing, rumor mill or not I think a decision needs to be made. Maybe they don’t have anyone wanting it and maybe rumor mill don’t need it they are taking this long to come to an agreement.
    • Gibson County proved last year you can win it all with 6 players and if I’m not mistaken they only played 5 in the championship game. I would expect them to be good by end of season but I think losing Hart is a huge loss.  Summer camp gives teams a preview of what to expect and it’s exciting to see where teams are at. The Fillies return 3 starters and the 6th man that is 6’2” and I think she is going to surprise folks this season.
