This SHOULD be a great game......

Agreed, these two teams always play each other tough even when one is having a down year and this year both are playing pretty good. Mtp was a couple of inches and a couple seconds away from beating WC in 2011 when WC won it all, closest game they played all year

I remember that game very well.......

I've not seen mTp play this year but I did see WC vs Summertown and I'll get to see them against Bruceton next week. If mTp will keep their heads on straight they could win this game

This is the 60th meeting between the schools. Always been really competitive. MtP leads the series 32-26-1, but WC has won 7 of the last 9 games.

I really believe WC takes care business in this one after finally getting to watch a little bit of film. Mt Pleasant looks like they get bored of playing as the game plays out. What's up with that?

My sentiments exactly!... MP seems to put together a solid 1st half, then it all falls apart the 2nd half. Emotionally & Mentally the mistakes and penalties works against them in their minds I'm guessing and it seems MP gives up,  and Physically - looking tired. In otherwords, let things start working against them, and it just snowballs down hill.

MP - COULD - win this game if they played 4 qtrs as well Emotionally, Mentally and Physically as they play the 1st 2.... but... remains to be seen.

As of game play right now? Wayne Co. takes this game in the 2nd half just as F-ville & C-ville did against MP... unless the boys of MP gets it together and proves me wrong the 2nd half. Love to be wrong that account!

Is it just me or has everybody counted WC out after losing a game by 7 to a bigger school that WC should have won by 21? Like I said in another thread somewhere, WC may not win another game all year but wouldn't be surprised if they don't lose another one all year, sometimes the ball just takes a funny bounce

What do you base the 21 on? It certainly wasn't the game itself was it? That would be a 27 point swing from what actually happened. Maybe you are saying they usually beat Riverside by 21? I know you're a good football guy; I've been reading your posts for years. So I want to know what you are basing the 21 on.

Wouldn't it be a twenty-eight point swing.

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
