Dang I thought this was a Bearden vs Maryville thread.

I don't know of any other reason (other than recruiting the area) that murvil would want to play the west Knox teams. The games are usually boring.

Back when the classes stopped at 5A, Maryville dominated 4A and was always told we couldn't play with the "big boys" of Knoxville in 5A.

In fall 2009, we went to 6A... went to the state finals undefeated.  No Knoxville team can sniff Maryville year in and year out, for some reason.  Farragut and Bearden have had some good teams.  West ALWAYS plays Maryville close, but consistently, no one has competed.  That's always been funny to me.
