Cudos to beerden for the effort. They looked like a much different team than when I saw them last. Impressive game by the black team. Those defensive coaches deserve a ton of credit. That unit started the year and was not very good. From this old mans seat, it looked like they rotated about 18 guys on the starting defense last night. That competition has made that group a lot better. The strength is definitely the offense. Early TO in the end zone was ugly and made the game closer. But it was good to see them pound the rock with the two horses in the backfield. Always good to win. On to the cowboys next week.

Maryville defense was outstanding. Defense has improved a lot. I saw a lot of licks layed out there. Defense stuffed the run all night long.

 

Offense moved the ball well. Byron Brown had a good game. Bryson Teffeteller gets better and better. 

 

Bearden plays tough defense. I noticed nobody scored a bunch of points on them.

Interesting note: 

Last night's game was the fifth consecutive time that Maryville has shut out Bearden.  The cumulative score over those five games is 220-0.

Bearden only brought a small band, the cheerleaders were in the wrong location on the field and the student section wasn't in the right spot. It's the small details that matter during the playoffs.

I’ve complained to several people in charge about that. Seems like nothing is going to be done.
