Quarterfinals: Rockwood travels to Meigs County for the rematch

Recommended Posts

Hate to see Swafford go down. It changed the game. But that's part of the game. Rockwood played hard and deserved the win. I know the Meigs guys are down but will be ok. No seniors on starting offense losing 2 good starters on defense. They will be a tough out next couple years. Will I guess we will be in the gym now.

Uh oh

Come on now. Don't start that stuff. You know when the Meigs QB got hurt it was a hole different game. Those predictions would have been pretty close with him at 100%. The play book went from 10 pages to 1. Just like if #4 for Rockwood got hurt they would have had a hard time moving the ball. Those predictions were made with both teams at 100%. The young man was still trying to run. And when he would drop back to pass he could not avoid the rush. He was trying to play with one leg. Congrats to Rockwood.

Not gonna copy here what I posted on the GB/C.F. thread...I've lived this same, exact scenario...The loss of one stud in 1A/2A ball is huge...But this is Football!

We lost end of story. Would have been a much different game had he not gotten hurt everyone knows it. He accounted for 7 touchdowns last game against Rockwood. We move on, we get better next year as we are a young team losing only 2 starters. Again grats to Rockwood on your victory not taking anything away from you. You guys played very hard for 4 quarters. We played hard as well but did not have a contingency plan for losing our ☆ player. Good luck rest if your season. Be ready for you next year.

That's the only way to be! Is the QB one of the starters you lose?

Congrats to Rockwood.. 99 yard touchdown drive with the game on the line is impressive. This has to be the biggest upset of the 2017 T$$AA Playoffs.

I expect Meigs to be right back in the thick of things next season.  Rumor is the coaches are already out hot on the recruiting trails in hopes of accumulating more talent in time for spring practice... success never sleeps!
