Should be a good game that will come down to which team can play their game. Brock Jancek is the best big man I’ve seen in this area. He has the potential to dominate inside. Jack Sompayrac can fill it up from 3. The other 3 starters had very limited varsity minutes coming into this year. The Irish have faced some pretty good guards in Bearden, Maryville and Karns. If the Irish can handle the press, get the ball inside and knock down some outside shots, we can make it a game. I expect we will slow it down and try to keep OR from running. Good luck to both teams.

Thanks Irish, should be a nail bitter of a game. Good luck to the Clover. RWR!

Okay, if you know a ORHS student ask them to go to the game tonight at 7pm and maybe buy their ticket. Encourage them to get their friends to go as well. I heard the students let the Lady Wildcats down last night. with poor attendance. Attending tournament basketball games where the season is on the line is fun. Be loud and proud. Gig the Catholic players a little. Cheer on your fellow students.  RWR!

The student section was empty the two OR games I’ve been to this year.  I was shocked, I’ve never seen it like that before.

I’m sure they’ll outnumber the 8-10 Catholic students that came to the district tourney. Hate that for all these student athletes in what’s could be their last high school game.

As a 54 year old high school fan this makes me sad. Darn, I had so much fun going to the games back in the day, We were brutal on opposing players.  Heck, we knew the names of girlfriends, boyfriends, moms and dads of the visiting teams and tormented the visiting  players with the info. We rattled car keys to let the visiting bus driver know it was time to fire up the bus and get out of town. My fav player to rag on was Jimmy Cool (if I remember correctly he went to Bearden). With that name he was such an easy target. Oh, the South-Doyle cheerleaders looked just like Burger King workers. I was kicked out of Farragut's gym not once but two times. Made my girlfriend go back inside her house and change her sweater because it was green and the Lady Wildcats were playing Greeneville in a sub-state game. I could go on but this has started to sound like Bruce Springsteen's Glory Days and high school was not my glory days. Now, are my glory days. RWR on to victory.

Oh, if I am starting to talk about high school, I have to mention Tee Higgins lol. Did I tell you all that one day my wife and I went to visit my sister in the Ridge and  we all went to Big Ed's for lunch. Ten minutes later, Tee and some guy walk in but I was to nervous to go and say hi to him. I could have got him to sign a small Big Ed's menu. Darn.

    • While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years? Everything that I have stated has been backed by factual evidence or public record, so no need to be sharp and witty.
    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
