madhatter2269
well someone had to start it. catholic has weapons galore and central has a bull rushing defense. if central had their QB it could of been interesting but that's no excuse come Friday night. predictions? chsbobcat09
HTV you could very well be right. Key will be our offense and how many points we can produce

Catholic is clicking offensively right now. I know Central's defense has been very good pretty much all year long, but I don't think that you have seen an offensive team anywhere near as talented as Catholic is. While South-Doyle and Fulton have some guys with tremendous skill, Catholic has those guys all over the field. Don't get me wrong - pulling for Central, but my head obviously picks Catholic. Hope I am wrong.
tucker52
IMO it all starts with the run game for the IRISH. If #31 gets rolling behind the O line it opens up things a lot. Our D has been playing better also. Looking forward to a great game.

bounder
After Friday night I have to pick Catholic in this one. Just don't think Central can hang with the talent on Catholics team. For the most part we held that bunch of big ole hairy legged boys, but at any time they can break loose and run right over you. Pardon me for hijacking your thread just had to butt in. DevilMan03
Would love to see Central win this game! But my head is telling me Catholic. I’ll be pulling for you BobCats!
osunut2
I'll be rooting hard for the Bobcats, but it will take a herculean effort to beat this Catholic team.

Same here. I see a running clock after halftime.

(Hint: "Because we are Maryville" is not what we're looking for.... more along the lines of X's and O's...) Catholic didn't trail until the last 1:10 when we snapped the ball over our punter's head on his first punt of the game and Maryville recovered on the 10 yd line. and scored. We really shot ourselves in the foot with about 300 penalty yards if you look at the big plays that were wiped out. Several first year starters and guys at new positions led to some execution errors and Maryville makes you pay for those errors. Offensively we played pretty well since not many teams put up 42 points on them. Josh Brown had a great game running the ball and Bussell exploded onto the scene making a big impression. We should have figured out a way to get the ball in his hands more often that game. He's got elite football speed. We lost most of our defensive starters from last year so the newbies stepped right into the fire. We also play most of our guys both ways so depth eventually was an issue in August. Tough to beat Maryville at home (especially when so many of the striped shirts are former MHS players LOL but we were warned...) Honestly I think that game helped Catholic realize they weren't world beaters and needed to go to work. Our schedule has definitely prepared us for the playoff run.
