I have stated my opion on the publib/private issue in earlier post. I pretty much knew (along with most coaches and sports writers) who would win the  Div. 1 5a trophy this year. It happened. By design?  I was not going to comment any more until my team (Oak Ridge) came on this thread as to them using illigal players. Name 'em.

Atrisk, I don't think he meant that Oak Ridge uses illegal players, I'm assuming he's referring to the school being an open zoned school.  Let's be real, Oak Ridge, Maryville, Alcoa, Fulton don't have to recruit because the schools win and have a tradition. Three of the four have great academics.  For everyone upset about Catholic being in division 1, I've been associated with Catholic (the church and the school) since I moved here in 2000.  The last two classes (2017 and 2018) have been playing together since the 3rd grade in CYF, KYS, AAU baseball etc. Those kids wanted to play together so they came to Catholic. I work with Knox County Schools and for years people come to me asking about attending the school and when I mention they don't offer scholarships they go elsewhere.  Catholic turns down a LOT of kids looking to play there but wanting money. Everyone is an uproar because the Irish stayed public, well blame the TSSAA (and if anyone has proof they are cheating turn them in), they ALLOWED the Irish to stay in D1.  If it wasn't for a certain Board of control member from Webb the Irish were set to move to D2 till he put together the the classes and the cutoffs looking out for his school and his plan to have Catholic play teams in Memphis and Nashville.

Not going there again atrisk. I didn't say anyone had done anything illegal but just had the ability to take kids not in their respective school zone. In the Catholic/ OR post, other people brought up players you had that didn't live in OR city limits. One of the OR posters even mentioned a kid from Clinton. The schools I specifically named all do it by the book!

Lol and you think I’m smoking somethin. I think you need to share whatever you’re on if you think they score at will against that Beech D. That’s pretty hilarious.

I guess the two possessions we didn't score mean we didn't score at will so you may be right. First punt late in the fourth quarter.

Glad you brought this up. Piss poor on the Beech student section to be chanting "Bring out the stretcher" when Cade Mays went down. Good job Beech, way to keep it classless.

Yes it was ! They were Chanting “Mays is trash” , and chanting  when 2 other players went down.

If anyone would care to review my post (both past and current) they will find my references to the tssaa and this issue. If your referring to the Clinton where the poster said he was a relative to the the subject. I think I posted back something like " name 'em" and never heard another thing.

    • Never in my life have I seen a team in a scrimmage against their own defense look so lost and confused. The defense didn’t look much better, the coaching staff can’t keep their anger together, not only with the players but also with their other coaches. I feel awful for those players. None of them look like they wanted or should’ve been out there, but for the grown men on the sidelines acting like fools, it's just embarrassing to the Farragut name and reputation. I now see why they chose not to live stream this on their YouTube channel.
    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
