If you repeat the 7th or 8th grade and do not participate in sports at the school you are repeating the grade you will be eligible to participate in High School. In Knox County it's done every year. For example an 8th grader at Fulton repeats 8th grade by attending Grace. They play for Knox County rec league then there's no violation. The only way they lose eligibility is by playing for Grace during the repeat year. Go read section 7 on page 13 again and read the follow up on page 53.

Thank you..... There are other cases similar to the one you just laid out, but it's funny how Mr. Rulebook didn't know or even consider this scenario.

I've watched this kid for 4 years. He has unlimited potential given his size, technique and mental approach. I have no doubt he will be successful at Georgia baring injury and should be playing on Sundays at some point. I would have loved to see him in orange considering I'm a former Vol athlete. The thought of Cade and Trey lined up beside each other would have been scary. I can't fault him for going to play on a program that is contending for championships with a proven OL coach in Sam Pittman. He silently decommitted from UT much earlier than it was announced publicly. It's not like Butch's firing led to him changing his mind. Yes, he has been a penalty machine but many of those penalties are bogus. His reputation proceeds him and many of the same things other players do draw flags in his case. He plays with a mean streak that will serve him well at the next level. His philosophy has always been to play through the echo of the whistle which certainly results in most of his unsportsmanlike penalties. He has all the physical tools you could want and was smart enough to be the first Catholic player ever to graduate early.

#55 Tucker has the potential to be a special player also. He's not as strong as Cade but he's also just finishing his soph. year. Cade is very athletic for his size and is more agile than Tucker right now. Cooper Mays has better technique than Cade had especially at that age. You can look at the offers the three of them are getting and tell they are special talents. They have all three shown out at camps with other prospects their size.

Was Cade a perfect prospect? No. He had way too many penalties and cost his team probably 500+ yards this year if you take into account plays that were negated by the flags.  I think it was a mixture of immaturity, lack of discipline and environment. But he has a lot of intangibles that you can't coach. I hope that the coaches at GA can rein him in and the sky will be the limit.

He should probably learn at address African American players differently than he did during the state championship game when he gets to UGA.

The other day I was listening to the Eric Ainge Show while driving and a Catholic fan called in and just came right out and said we really beat Maryville but we both know what happened.  I hope Stars can look through some of his trash cans and find the film of the penalties that cost Catholic the game in the very last series so seeing it will shut some of them people up. That was a very good game in my opinion and bad as Maryville's defense was at that point in the game in the 4th quarter I wouldn't be afraid to say Catholic could of scored but one player cost them 45 yards in penalties backing them into a hole it would have taken a miracle to have got out of.  There were times I couldn't figure out if he was trying to block or applying for a spot on Dancing With The Star's.  I'm sure Cade is a very fine young man and I hope him only the best at Georgia and he will have a great coach in Sam Pittman that has seen his share of kids like him and knows how to handle them. Hope he see's his dreams one day playing in the NFL and I'll be pulling for him.

I saw this young man on the field after the Oak Ridge game and he is huge! I'm 6'3" and had to look up to see his face. And he must be 2 ax handles across the shoulders. Ask Stars how wide that is. If they can corral him at Georgia he can be a dandy.

Or you can just look at the average Waffle House waitress's butt and you will know how wide two axe handles are.:o:D

Nope.  But I can read and actually comprehend what I am reading.

It's right there in black and white.  Deny all you want, but that is the TSSAA rule.  The folks at Grace Christian Academy in Knoxville can attest that the rule is, in fact, real.

Your tainted obsession with Grace is comical. Grace hasn’t had any issues with the 8th grade rule. We had a kid repeating the 8th grade that ran in 1 HS track meet as an 8th grader. No penalties were incurred, but nice attempted jab. You should’ve referenced the same kid that transferred to Catholic  as a Freshman and cost them a football forfeit  because he played as an ineligible player. But, had you made that reference (which was more relevant to the subject) you wouldn’t have been able to make your butt hurt comment toward Grace. Get over your obsession with spreading fake news about GCA. You did it during the coaching search too.

*the kid that was repeating the 8th grade at GCA transferred to GCA after completing 8th grade at a public school.
