There was a 0% chance those refs were gonna call anything on her there. Plus two. She took a ton of steps.

I think a foul was called most every possession on Upperman's end in OT and same contact or worse wasn't called on other end. Macon County was not going to win that game in OT. Very obvious the temper tantrum got in the refs head. And I agree it was a bad call on Upperman but I seen a ton on Macon County that went against them in regulation. +1,000,000,000,

But this game is played in real time and it did look like contact. Bad call. However, if you used replay for the whole game Levy would have fouled out before the end... so you can’t just use replay to argue the play you want. Bad call or not Dana shouldn’t have acted like she did... her son chased her all around that court pulling her away. No one in their right mind can say she was in the right but it played out like it did and it was a heck of a game! I have stayed away from commenting on this thread or any social media because I have good friends at UHS... great people and great kids. BUT THIS COMMENT above is LAUGHABLE and the other post where you said “they (UHS)never call players out by name and say you suck”... uhhh yeah they do... that’s exactly what they do! They make signs with kids names on it, make props to make fun of kids. The absolutely without a doubt have the rudest classless student section I have witnessed in 40 years. York Macon DeKalb and LA all have rowdy kids but none compare to UHS(last 10 years running). I have been spat on, cussed, and threatened by that student section not once but twice... absolutely my fault for being late to a game and having to sit close to them. So, girl don’t even try to make it sound like UHS has a classy student section. I want to pull for UHS because of my friends but that student section makes it hard for me to do. Attended almost every basketball game this year. I may have missed 2 away games. I never heard them chant a players name or saw any of the things you mentioned above. It wasn’t just the student section booing Dana. It was all the Macon fans, you know adults that should know better.
justcurious5
Refs definitely were rattled and had a terrible 2nd half....mostly both ways Macon Co. players, coaches and fans probably have a bigger gripe though. Just curious though.... I wonder if there is any video available of the discussion that Macon County's coach was having with B. Childress immediately following the game (other than the small bit that was shown on the telecast) ??
ZEBRA35
Looked like Bernard was too busy on his phone to worry about the game.
BullShark
Just watched the replay. Any male coach that did what the Upperman coach did at the end of regulation would have been tossed, "T-ed up" and most likely suspended for games next season. The refs never recovered from that fiasco. Terrible calls all the way through the end of the game. Congrats to Upperman and Levy. She is a heckuva player, but a shame for there to be so much controversy involved at the end of a championship game. WOW!
UTRok
You can pick apart the entire game if you watch it on television and can slow it down. 24 for Macon walked and lowered her shoulder a lot in the paint. There were many missed blown or non calls on both teams. As far as the ending to regulation goes not sure any of you are qualified to comment on that. To possibly have the state tournament championship taken for you on a phantom call as far as she was concerned. Unless you have been in that situation I really don't care what you think. Simply just your opinion and every one has one. Macon will be the team to beat the next year or two 24 is a special player and 10 is right behind her. If I heard correctly last night on television they said UT Martin has offered 10 and UT has talked to her. It was Awesome in my opinion to have two 8AA teams in the championship game. The student section comment earlier to me is completely absurd. Having been to all of the 8AA gyms the last two seasons they all are just as bad with the exception of MCM. I have some video with audio at Macon two seasons ago that will curl your hair with some of their language. I expect the student section to be rowdy but cussing and spitting is not expectable and should be dealt with.

Just a little history.... just last year UHS kids took to Twitter and posted a picture of a Tornado and told Macon they would wipe out/destroy them like that tornado did on ‘08. 14 lives lost & a town destroyed ... but yes UHS joke about it. Yes, Adults should know better... just last week you had a man come down the step cussing LA student section across the gym. So, you arguing about bad behavior from any team falls in def ears because UHS leads everyone in this category. 1
