Whats Marion Co look like this year?

We will be a young team this year and playing a pretty stout schedule. Probably 3rd round is the ceiling. Most know that 2019 starts a very good run for us for quite a few years. If the kids stay together that are coming up we should field some of the better teams we have had. Thats a big "IF". We would definitely have the most speed across the board we have ever had.

I just saw Tyner scrimmage Whitwell a little while ago. Tyner once again will be a factor in the east. There is no doubt they will have a great collection of athletes.

Change of dates caught me..but I heard Tyner played a good game on both sides. Hopefully it will carry over to the Fall!!

I hear that Union City is at Covington today. Unfortunately I won’t be able to go. Any updates will be appreciated.

Union City put up 8 touchdowns on the Chargers at Covington ... Kaleb Craig scored 5 TDs and had over 400 yards rushing ... Covington pretty much scored at will on a baseball/soccer depleted defense ...

Covington had several playing baseball also including starting Qb and several defensive players— we have all skill players returning except for wide receiver.

The FB is a beast for UC but Union City didn't score 8tds.  They scored 6 for the whole scrimmage and Covington scored 9.  The QB for Covington scored 6 times and he is a freshman.  Starting QB was in the stands sitting behind me along with many other Baseball/Football players that would have helped on Defense.  Saying all that both teams were missing key kids on defense and will be strong on offense. I thought it was a physical and very spirited scrimmage.  If you like scoring it was definitely a scrimmage you would have enjoyed.  Covington busted long run after long run and UC did what it does grind it out.  I see both teams being right in the mix for another playoff run come Novmeber. Good Luck to UC and GO Chargers!

Just going by what the newspaper reported ... That's what the paper said ... Covington scored 9 TDs ... Had a bunch of long scoring plays ...

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
