Mr. Spurlock  has just been made Superintendent of Rutherford County Schools.  Super man and things just got MUCH better for all Rutherford County schools and sports.

Now who takes his place at Oakland and will they be as supportive of sports.

Better question is how long will Stevens last at LaVergne.  I am betting NOT LONG!

I bet if Stanton Stevens could do it over again he would have never left Austin East. He had them rolling.

He had some players that made the difference and level of play.

Why?  He was handed a great team with some of the best players in the State at Oak Ridge and could NOT bring home the Gold Ball.  Team only went down after that until Oak Ridge did what was best for the kids and FIRED him!  If you look at his teams at LaVergne you will see a BUNCH of good athletes he still could NOT win with!  Even as bad as R'dale got under Coach A, LaVergne still could NOT beat R'dale.

Stanton had a lot of success at Austin East. Austin East went downhill after he left. I believe the Oak Ridge job was too big for him.

Respect, discipline, and honesty is the same at either 1a or 6a.  He would have problems at any of them.

Since Spurlock's practically gets to name his own successor, I'd be shocked if they weren't. Might already be in the building

Principal pick this time 'might' come down to who's school board relative needs a job, and how much the teacher's Union gets involved.

I think that Lost Old Dad should be named the Oakland Principal....

 

Just look at his qualifications...

Knows more than every coach in Ruco....

Has plenty of free time

Served his country

Knows what board members get favors or give out handouts - so he would be great at communicating with them and getting what his school needs

This seems to be a NO BRAINER to me...he then could fire all the coaches that suck and replace them with new ones...

Being that the last 4 principals at Oakland had backgrounds in athletics, I think they will be in good hands

I heard some rumors last night that some Oakland players have quit and or been suspended from the team. Big time players at that. Can anyone verify?
