Sumner and Wilson County FBall

Any word on Hendersonville, we get to open the season with them again this year. I heard they have really improved, but no one I know has seen them scrimmage or play yet.  I think it could be  a much closer game than Blackman wants to start the year with.  Any insight appreciated

Hendersonville returns 9 starters on Defense and 8 on Offense.

After spring practice, junior Drew Hohenbrink looks to be the leading candidate at quarterback. He’s a big kid with a big arm, 6’3 225 but didn’t get much Varsity time last year behind Brett Coker. The offensive line and TE all return and must improve from last year. Running back should be a strength for this team offensively, with Derek Kincaid and Logan Spurrier being the “go-to” guys.

Defensively there is a lot of experience returning but I didn’t think we were very good on that side of the ball last year. Hopefully we will be improved but how much is up in the air.

Will be interesting to see what type of identity this team has under the new leadership of James Beasley.

We scrimmaged Nolensville during spring. I think the score was 8 scores to 0 with our varsity and JV each scoring 4 a piece. Hard to say how good/bad we will be from spring practice but they seemed to play hard.

Is Bundy still coaching there or did he leave?

He’s still teaching at HHS but no longer coaching.

I knew he wasn’t happy with the change.  Always thought he was a decent coach though.

A year or two ago the Commandos had a speedy little QB on the freshman team, whatever happened to him?

Nolensville did not score at all.  They were not very good

What does Mt Juliet have coming back this year. I know they have a very talented running back; but after that I have now idea. I have been away from the program for too long know what is going with the team; how spring scrimmages went and strengths and weaknesses they will have.

What kind of year does everyone think MJ will have?

After reading a couple of different topics; sounds like MJ has a lot of talent and athletes coming back and are one of the favorites to win the region.

Depends if they can ever deliver any consistency against a decent team.  Their regular season schedule killed them last year as it did NOT have them ready for the playoffs.  Scoring high against cup cakes does not mean much when you come up against a real team like R'dale!

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
