I hope we are still playing, but if we aren't.  I promise you I will be at that game.  All I have to do is drive through Clinton. Lol. I will bring you an OR hat and buy you a funnel cake.  Bet.

You are on and I can bring something from Seattle :).  Hope you're still playing. You Should have won last week or at least the score indicated it was close enough not sure what really happened.

Brang it!  Farragut played well.  No excuses.

I have watched AC football from it's inception. We have won ballgames at AC and they have won at the Ship.  Every year, if we are done playing, and AC is at home, I go to  their playoff game. I have seen some good ones back to Kerr and  the Price twins, watched Davey run all over us; AE, Fulton, Clinton, West, etc.  Great games.  Before the field house,  the barn, greatest show on turf (mooooooo!), the field painting, the letter jackets, t-shirts, rings, statues, new turf, police escorts, fireworks, Metallica entrance, funnel cakes.  It's a great atmosphere.  It's a tough place to come in and get a win.

Yeah you sure have. I like the announcer too. LOL Yeah during those times when AC was not playing well they still manage to fairly play well against OR even in a lose. Kerr had a good team when they upset undefeated Cleveland which I think had not been beat in 3 or 4 years; was nation's win record or close. LaRue stood out. Then if I remember Davey was coach beat undefeated Clinton in the playoffs and another year beat Undefeated Powell. Yeah you do go back. So if there is a team in my opinion that will beat Greeneville it will be the Mavericks, if they stay good and healthy.

Yep, Cleveland won 56 in a row until that night.  Greeneville is big, tough and talented great team, no question.  Last week in November, when AC has it all cranked up, you gotta play well to come outta there with the win. and that ball is shaped funny, it takes some crazy bounces.  You never know.  Hopefully OR is in the semis too, but if we ain't. I will see you there.

OR played a close game last week and can make adjustments but they played a good team too. So a few minor adjustments and they will make it and stay healthy :thumb:

Yeah and if an opposing coach told me one of my players deserved to be laying on the field do to a cheap shot, he would have been going to the hospital!

McKamey said that's what you get when you have your starters in in the 4th quarter. He wasn't justifying a "cheap shot". He was saying as the winning coach, if you're up big in the late quarters and you keep your starters in then he can't sub either. It should never of happened. The winning coach is always the first to sub then losing coach can. Neither coach should want to risk hurting a starter late in a lopsided game. If one team is running up the score to prove a point, then what happens is not in the other coaches hands. That's my opinion only.

You can spin it however you want but that’s exactly what he was doing! If had been just a normal football deal then MAYBE you can say that. And I would hardly call milking the clock and running the ball, running up the score!

That’s about the farthest thing from the truth of that game! AC could have hung 70+ on Clinton easy! AC ran the ball ALOT. They could have lined up and threw it all night and made it really ugly but they didn’t!

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
