I believe the west will have Peabody in the semifinals vs CA/Waverly winner. Union City is a good team, but having to play Peabody twice is tough. However I would never count that bunch out.  In

Also so I have a Question. If Peabody runs over Dresden which is 10th in 1a would they give more points on the vote or do the other teams need to loose for that to happen? What’s your opinion lol

In all honesty with the way things have played out with injuries and such, Dresden is not a top 10 team in 1A.

The way the point system works is : A first place vote receives 10 overall points.  2nd place 9 points. 3rd place 8 points and so forth.   Looks as if only 15 AP writers voted this week compared to 16 last week. You can tell by the number of first place votes in ( ) .

i think it’s ridiculous that Peabody isn’t number 1 in the poll, and unbelievable they didn’t receive a single first place vote. Waverly is probably a top 5 team right now, and definitely one at the end of the season, but I can’t have them there right now in my opinion.

Meigs County got 13 of the 15 first place votes.  Also the 2 writers that gave Columbia Academy their first place votes gave Meigs County their 2nd place votes.

I think that’s crazy. We’re a top 3 team right now. Definitely not 1, and probably not 2. Peabody is in a class of their own right now and should unanimously hold the 1 spot

Thanks for the nod  for Waverly.  I wouldn't have Waverly in the top 5 right now either. We should be a top 5 team by the end of the year . But we shall see how things play out . Peabody would be my number 1 the meigs  then CA

      Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?

      Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
